Kentucky Virtual Campus for K-12 Students

Steps for Accessing PLATO Courses - Homeschool Students

Once the programs are downloaded, click "Go to Plato" and your assignments will appear. YOU NEED TO FOCUS, TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO WELL ON THE ASSESSMENTS so the program can place you in the correct skill level. If you rush through and don’t do your best, you could be placed in a skill level that is too basic. Plato wants to help improve and enhance your skills at an appropriate level that helps your daily school work.

How to begin the assessments:

  1. Download Plato Plug Ins, Disable Pop up Blockers, Adobe Reader and Other Interactive programs mentioned above.
  2. Log onto www.kyvc4k12.org
  3. Enter User Name and New Password on Home Page. The first time you log on, you'll be asked to change your password. Once saved, click the "Home" icon.
  4. Click "Go to Plato" Link and your assignments will appear.
  5. Click assignment you wish to work in. Complete Tutorials and Mastery Tests. Practices, Applications and Offline Activities are OPTIONAL.
  6. To Unlock a Mastery Test, click back into the Tutorial for that module. The Mastery Test will then be ready to take again.

When you are ready to log out of Plato—always remember to go to the left hand side of the screen where the orange list says LOG OUT. Click on LOG OUT and when the screen shows a RED Plato, you may use the RED X to exit completely. If you don't log out correctly, your data may not always be saved.

If you have any problems with computer set-up/downloads, PLATO program or have questions about the PLATO courses, go to the Ask a Question email form. A timely response will be sent to the email address you provide when completing the form.
